How it Works


The Air Movement® thermal recovery system is a patented airflow system. Our Air Movement Systen has a patented method of collecting warm air beneath the ceiling or roof, and returning it to the floor through a narrow, column air path even when located up to 40 feet above the AMS Columnfloor. As soon as the air column reaches the floor, it gently spreads out along the floor, up the walls, and along the ceiling or roof, where it is collected and returned to the floor. This cycle is then repeated over and over, eventually equalizing the temperature within the space.

Essentially the Air Movement® Thermal Recover System acts like a "dynamic" insulator. It is much like wrapping your building in a blanket of insulation, just by turning on a switch. The Air Movement® System works in perfect harmony with your present heating or cooling system and properly placed it will not disrupt desired airflow patterns from supply or return air distribution equipment. Diffuser fans may be turned off, thus saving more energy dollars.


The system works to overcome two physical aspects:

Warm air rising and cold air dropping. In winter when a building is heated, the heated air rises and collects beneath the roof. Unless insulated with a very thick blanket of insulation, the roof will allow heat to escape rapidly through it, until it is eventually lost to the outside. The colder it is outside, the more heat required, and the faster this heat transfer takes place. The Air Movement® Thermal Recovery System saves energy by dramatically slowing down the rate of heat transfer, by equalizing the temperature within the space reducing the demand for heat, keeping occupants more comfortable.

In the summer when you cool your building with air conditioning, the cold air generated falls to the floor and forms a wasted layer of energy. Breaking up and circulating this cold air layer will minimize the demand for air conditioning by equalizing the temperature within the space. This keeps occupants more comfortable by equalizing the temperature within the room, resulting in a dramatic reduction of complaints (particularly in restaurants and office settings).

Standard Ceiling Fan Operation

Fan CompareWind chill factors as great as 8° prevents standard ceiling fans from delivering maximum comfort and savings. A room 2500 sq. ft. will be drafty 100% of the time and will require 3 inefficient ceiling fans to 1 Air Movement unit.

We Are The Solution

Air Movement Systems® is the solution and superior alternative to conventional and expensive air movement systems. A 2500 sq. ft. room will have 2 sq. ft. of down draft at room temperature, with 2496 sq. ft. with no draft at all. This gives you 100% comfort and up to 30% or more savings on cooling and heating costs.


1. Installation: Installation costs are minimal. Commercial models are easily installed into suspended ceilings. Industrial models can be easily secured to structural roof support, usually with beam clamps. There are no ducts, piping or control wiring to install. One (1) 120V electrical connection is all that is needed.

2. Comfort: Along with energy savings, increased comfort is also realized by the dispersion of stagnant air, elimination of drafts and humidity (no more steamed up windows). Buildings have concrete floors, and the floor along with furniture and other stationery items will become radiant heaters in winter.
Since the floor is always being covered with a warm air flow, this will eliminate the need for ceramic heaters because their are no more cold feet.

3. Decibel levels: 54db at 12 ft


Anyone using the Air Movement System® should save approximately 1/3 in heating and cooling through the life of the unit. (We have reports of as much as 50% or more in energy savings some cases).

Operating Cost

Operating cost is about $0.25 per day running 24 hours a day. Along with directly reducing fuel (gas) consumption, energy savings in electricity also occur by reducing the "ON TIME" electrical demand of your heating and cooling mechanical equipment and or burner and related controls, etc. Since the heating and cooling equipment is not operating 30 to 40% of the time, this will reduce your normal maintenance and replacement expenses incurred with your equipment.
